WHY IS THE BIBLE AMBIGUOUS?
Why is
the Bible written in such a way that says one thing and then turns around and says
just the opposite? Does God think like that? Is it because we can’t understand
God fully anyway? That we have to reconcile Scripture with Scripture? That He
has to speak to different audiences and some are just not ready for
understanding yet? That the word of God was written to be understood by some
people and not others? That the Bible contains pabulum, non-fat, low-fat,
regular, extra rich milk as well as meat? That we only consume what we can and
leave the rest alone?
Do some
people bother other people who like the meat of the word and consider them too
deep and spiritual? Isn’t it alright to show yourselves approved of God because
you study, rightly divide the word truth and are not ashamed to speak it? Is it because some do not know the word of
truth because God has not revealed it to them? Is it because spiritual gifts,
miracles and healings manifest in some lives and not in others? If the Devil can’t
steal my joy why do some think they can?
Why is
the Bible ambiguous? Do we think it is ambiguous because of our limited human
capacity for reasoning? That we ad to make up the word ambiguous because of are
own lack of understanding. That His thoughts are as far above our thoughts as
the heavens are above the earth? That the Holy Spirit has to reveal His
thoughts to us and only at the discretion of the Father? That it is His form of
reasoning with us and we have to line up our thoughts with His? What is God
teaching us by being ambiguous?
Why
didn’t God write everything in sequential order? Is it because it is always
right now for him? That he has written what He causes to be? Does God only want
to reveal his word to those who are serious about finding out what it really
says in an attempt to unravel the mystery? That He gives wisdom and
understanding to those who search his word diligently? That it is all about Him
anyway.
Or
could it be something much simpler and basic?
That He
wants to be the center of our discussions and He has made it such that gives us
plenty of opportunity to do so.
Where
are you in Gods education program? Are you still in nursery consuming pabulum?
It seems many people are comfortable with the education they have and
congregate where is continually taught as if that is all there is. There are
people over fifty years old still consuming pabulum and is disturbing to me. If
you saw a sixty year old person with a pacifier in their mouths, such as they
speak the word of God, would you say something about it?
It should
be not so with the word of God. Babies like Disneyland
and lots of toys! They build great buildings with and for the kids never wanting
to out grow Disneyland . They want a Church
like the world they live in. They want all what the world has to offer. The
only thing you can count on with the world is that it never changes, just the
prices.
There
are many issues that have been discussed about Him for centuries with no
resolution in sight. The Bible is written in such a way that each generation has
ample information to form an opinion about Him. Even if we are wrong we
acknowledge Him. Even if we deny Him we acknowledge Him. Even if we doubt His
existence we acknowledge Him. Turning from Him to idols is another matter
altogether. He hates idolatry.
To
Christians, the idolaters, atheists, and agnostics are a testimony of God's
grace and mercy in their lives. Christians ask God, "Why did you choose
us?"
And
then they acknowledge Him even the more. They study His word to find out more
about Him and the discussions continue. Why does He have us study about Him?
Why does He have us discuss Him?
Isaiah
26:3 say's Thou will keep him/her in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on
thee: because of his/her trust in thee. To those who doubt, deny, or turn to
idolatry there is no peace from God, because they know or not trust Him.
Therefore,
trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. (Proverbs
3:5-7)
